PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent any defective welding by reliably removing a coating film when welding a metal part to a coated surface of a metal can. SOLUTION: In a method for welding a part 4 to a coated surface of a meal can, the part comprises a body 11 and a weld portion which is elastically deformed with respect to the body and welded to the coated surface of the metal can. The weld portion is pressed against the coated surface by pressing the body of the part in a predetermined direction, a contact portion of the weld portion with the coated surface is moved along the coated surface to remove a coating film, and the contact surfaces are welded by running the current between the part and the metal can.
