The optical diode arrangement has a first polarizing element that divides the beam into two linearly polarized beams, whereby both linearly polarized beams pass through a Faraday rotator (44) and a non-Faraday rotator (33). The split partial beams each pass through an associated Faraday rotator and non-Faraday rotator. The beams are recombined by a second polarizing element.
