The air conditioning circuit for a motor vehicle uses thermal energy to be converted into mechanical energy to supply the air conditioning. The air conditioner is mechanically connected to the energy converter and driven by it. At least one of the energy converter or air conditioner can use a Stirling cycle engine (4,11). The energy converter can use an external flame source as the thermal energy source. Claims include use of the air conditioning circuit in a land, water or air vehicle.
