Electro optic telescope or binocular with zoom using CCDs and a combined electronic and optical adjustment

The invention describes electro optic telescopes and/or binoculars with an enhanced zoom range using a combination of optic and electronic adjustment. One or more CCDs are fitted into each optic path with the display either through eyepieces and/or onto a VDU. For higher quality viewing four CCDs are provided for each optic path, for a four color system. The zoom control can be via a rotating wheel and/or via a quiet running motor. The overall magnification ranges from 10x to 40x. The viewing magnification can be further adjusted by interchangeable eyepieces.
