A stable stimulant composition for the growth and development of animals and poultry, administrable orally or parenterally, comprises as active principle (1) a salt of cysteine or homocysteine, e.g. the hydrochlorides, together with hexamethylenetetramine, or (2) thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid or a salt thereof, and (3) calcium and lithium sulphosalicylates, folic acid, sodium metabisulphite, sodium benzoate, superphosphate and zinc sulphate. The composition may be in the form of a powder or an injectable aqueous solution. |
