PURPOSE: An apparatus for preventing a drop of a tongs crane slab is provided to prevent the drop of the slab from a jaw of a tongs crane. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for preventing a drop of a tongs crane slab comprises a guide block installed to a side of a crane arm(10) conveying a slab(50); a shaft assembly rotatably supported to the guide block, wherein a safe stopper(22) is installed to a lower part of the shaft assembly to support a bevel gear(21) at an upper part thereof and a slab at a lower part thereof; a cylinder(31) which is installed to the arm near the shaft assembly and has a piston rod having a rack gear engaged with the bevel gear to rotate the bevel gear on operation; and a solenoid valve controlling the operation direction of the piston rod.
