The apparatus has an environment information detecting unit to detect and store information about environment surrounding a movable body. A distance determining unit (DD) identifies a substance appearing along an estimated track of the body to find the distance between the body and the substance. An alerting unit alerts a positional relationship between the body and the substance based on the distance determining unit output.
