Isolated polynucleotide (I), from coryneform bacteria, is at least 70% identical with a sequence that encodes a polypeptide (IIa) containing a fully defined sequence (330 amino acids (aa)) (S2), encodes a polypeptide (IIb) containing a sequence at least 70% identical with (S2), is complementary (IIc) to (IIa) or (IIb) or contains at least 15 consecutive nucleotides (nt) of (IIa-c). An Independent claim is also included for production of L-aa, especially lysine, by fermenting a coryneform bacterium in which the pfk gene, or related nucleic acid, is amplified, especially over expressed. |
