Fixed type constant velocity joint and method of producing the same

The joint has joint outer ring (1) whose rear open end includes an inner diameter larger than an outer diameter of a joint inner ring (2) .A cage (3) holds torque transmitting balls in the ball tracks. An inner diameter surface of the cage has a shape such that the region located forwardly of an axial center controls the forward movement of the inner ring while the region located rearwardly controls the axial movement. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a fixed type constant velocity joint.
