<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify an infant seated in the front end of a seat cushion from an adult seated in a prescribed position of the seat cushion with the upper body inclined and an adult having an object such as a newspaper and a magazine put on the front. SOLUTION: When an approach sensor 36 is turned on, because an occupant (adult) 22 seated in a prescribed position on a set cushion 10A of a front passenger seat is reading a newspaper 30 or the upper body is inclined, an air bag control circuit 32 judges the occupant as an adult based on the judgment of a load measured by a load sensor 42, namely, when the load measured by the load sensor 42 is high load. An inflator 18 is thus operated by giving the priority to it and an air bag body 20 is unfolded.</p> |
