PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector housing such as an adaptor and a receptacle that suppress damage and breaking of an optical connector tip end at its attaching/detaching and that also facilitate detaching operation. SOLUTION: The optical connector housing is composed of an inner housing 2 into which an optical connector 10 is inserted for connection and an outer housing 3 which stores this inner housing 2 by allowing it to float with a clearance. The engaging part 6 formed on the outside of the center in the axial direction of the inner housing 2 and on the inside of the outer housing 3 are engaged with each other in a manner floatable with the clearance, while the inner housing 2 is made floatable pivotally around the center in the axial direction in the optical connector housing 1. As a result, in attaching/detaching the optical connector 10, even if force is imparted to the optical connector 10 in a direction slightly deviated from the center axial direction of the inner housing storing hole 5 in the outer housing 3, damage or breaking at the tip end of the optical connector 10 can be suppressed by the floating of the inner housing 2.
