PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lighten a shaft member by hollowing it, and to develop a structure of the shaft member with easy attachment to a ball bearing or a paper feeding roller capable of providing coupling of proper force with an object member. SOLUTION: The shaft member 1 is a hollow shaft member of a metal material fitting in the object member having a hole such as a bearing 2. A circular cross section is divided into three or more outer arcs m1, m2, m3, and etc. so as to satisfy a certain condition, and three or more inverted V-shaped grooves n1, n2, n3, and etc. are formed in between. It is composed so that the outer arcs and the V-shaped grooves are compressively deformed inward to be inserted in the hole of the object member, and the object member and the shaft member are coupled by elastic repulsion force generated by compressive deformation.
