COMMUNICATION ERROR DETECTING METHOD IN BUS SYSTEM COMMUNICATION NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely prevent error judgement on communication error detection in a bus system communication network including a first type ECU to which electric power is supplied despite whether an ignition key is in an on-position or a cranking position, and a second type ECU to which electric power is supplied when the ignition key is in the on-position and power supply is blocked when the ignition key is in the cranking position.

SOLUTION: Each ECU selects any of first to third communication error detecting modes for stopping the communication error detection when the ignition key is in the cranking position and the vehicle velocity is lower than predetermined velocity in response to the combination of its ECU type and the other ECU type, and carries out the communication error detection based on the selected mode in the case of the power supply voltage lower than predetermined voltage.
