PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform multigradation display without raising driving frequency of a liquid crystal driving panel of a simple matrix type so much. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal driving apparatus is provided with a basic timing signal producing circuit 12 which produces a scanning electrode driving timing signal for successively scanning each scanning electrodes of a liquid crystal display panel 18 and performing selective driving by synchronizing with display timing of a given display signal and a signal electrode driving timing signal for writing the display signal in each signal electrodes of the liquid crystal display panel, a scanning electrode driving circuit 14 which divides each scanning electrodes of the liquid crystal display panel 18 to a plurality (n) of frames having mutually different time length and performs selective driving based on the scanning electrode driving timing signal and a signal electrode driving circuit 15 which writes a corresponding display signal for every frames of a plurality (n) having mutually different time length divided by the scanning electrode driving circuit 14 to each signal electrodes of the liquid crystal display panel 18 based on the signal electrode driving timing signal.
