<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor thin film electrode having high photoelectric conversion efficiency at a low cost in a semiconductor thin film electrode sensitized with an organic dye. <P>SOLUTION: In a thin film electrode sensitized with an organic dye, the organic dye has a cyanoacetic acid at an end as it is represented by the formula (1), wherein L<SB>1</SB>represents an electron transfer linking group containing at least one of heterocyclic rings selected from a thiophene-ring, furan-ring and pyrrole-ring, and R<SB>1</SB>-R<SB>6</SB>independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent group, wherein two adjacent substances in R<SB>1</SB>-R<SB>5</SB>may form a ring by bonding to each other, and M represents a hydrogen atom or a salt forming cation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
