<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal display device with which a color image with excellent quality is displayed both in a reflective display and in a transmissive display. <P>SOLUTION: A reflection film 8 is disposed on the rear side of a liquid crystal element 1 more backward than a liquid crystal layer 4 corresponding to predetermined regions in a plurality of pixels A. A reflection part A1 is formed by the region where the reflection film 8 is disposed on a plurality of the pixels A, in which light incident from the front side is reflected by the reflection film 8 and is emitted to the front side. A transmission part A2 is formed by the other region, in which light incident from the rear side is transmitted and is emitted to the front side. At the same time, a non-coloring film 9 corresponding to the reflection part A1 of a plurality of the pixels A is disposed on an inside surface of a front side substrate 2. On the inside surface of the front side substrate 2, color filters 10R, 10G, 10B respectively corresponding to a plurality of the pixels are formed by superimposing parts corresponding to the reflection part A1 on the non-coloring film 9 with a film thickness ratio in which film thickness of the part corresponding to the reflection part A1 is smaller than that corresponding to the transmission part A2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
