PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery transfer method that does not impose a large burden on an operator while lowering the height of a battery room of a battery type cargo handling vehicle. SOLUTION: Interior rollers 26 disposed on a battery transfer truck are moved into the battery room 11 defined in the battery type cargo handling vehicle through openings 13 formed in a bottom member 12 of the battery room 11, so that the interior rollers 26 push up a battery B off the bottom member 12, and in this state the battery B is moved sideways from a platform 20 of the battery transfer truck to the battery room 11 or from the battery room 11 to the platform 20.
