PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve various kinds of performances of a rice cooker by providing a mechanism which opens/closes a lid heating plate steam port on a lid heating plate. SOLUTION: This rice cooker is equipped with a main body, a pot which is detachably housed in the main body, a lid body which covers an open port part on the upper surface of the main body, and is axially supported in a manner to be freely openable/closable, the lid heating plate which forms the lower surface of the lid body, and a lid heating plate temperature detecting means which detects the temperature of the lid heating plate. The rice cooker is also equipped with the lid heating plate steam port provided on the lid heating plate and a lid steam port which communicates with the lid heating plate steam port and is provided on the surface of the lid body, an opening/closing valve which opens/closes the lid heating plate steam port on the lid heating plate steam port, a holder which holds the opening/closing valve, and a reaction force spring which holds the opening/closing valve in a contacting direction with the lid heating plate. The mechanism for opening/closing the lid heating plate steam port changes the shape by a stored temperature, and moves the opening/closing valve in a contact releasing direction and communicates the inside of the pot with the lid heating plate steam port.
