<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly limit an output of a content data required to protect a copy right. <P>SOLUTION: This content output device 10 includes an MCU 12, and the MCU 12 discriminates the presence of a license for a music data when an output indication is input. The music data is not output from a digital terminal 28 when no license is found. The music data is output from the digital terminal 28 to external equipment when the license exists. Noise data is added to all the music data or one portion of the music data output from the digital terminal 28 when complete admission for the music data is not allowed in the license even when the license exists.
