The gearbox comprises, mounted on a hub (8), a driving ring (10) which drives the rotation of a receiving ring via gears borne by a central support (19) engaged in the teeth of the driving ring and of the receiving ring. To change gear, the angle of the gears with respect to the rings is changed, while at the same time moving the rings apart. The means for moving the rings apart comprise a parting member (33) mounted such that it can pivot on the central support about a transverse axis without the possibility of translational movement with respect to the said support. By pivoting from the engaged position to the disengaged position, the parting member causes interaction between the rollers (40) that it bears and the bearing ramps formed on sleeves and consequently causes the central support to move away from the receiving ring and causes the driving ring to move away from the support. |
