PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray tube which can optionally control the position of the focus of the X ray and a focal size. SOLUTION: For the X-ray tube, a rotating positive electrode is arranged so as to face a negative electrode composed of a filament 7 for emitting thermion and a focusing electrode 8 for focusing the thermion in a glass bulb 1 under high vacuum and X-ray is generated by accelerating thermion by high voltage and making the thermion collide with a positive electrode 2. The focusing electrode 8 is composed of a plurality of focusing electrode elements 11, 12, 13, 14 electrically insulated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
