The invention relates to a method for assembling a connection of at least one tube segment to a substantially flat element, such as an additional tube segment with a cold connection thereon, which comprises: a radially protruding flange on the tube segment at or close to the end of the tube segment to be connected; a gasket for clamping against the flange; and a number of couplings distributed round the periphery of the flange for clamping the gasket with force between the flange and the element, wherein the method comprises the steps of: adjusting the flange in deforming manner relative to the element and/or the associated tube segment at least almost without pressure on the gasket, and subsequently tightening the couplings while freely clamping the gasket in order to mutually connect the flange and the element with the gasket therebetween under pressure which is distributed radially in uniform manner. |
