PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot-rolled martensitic stainless steel strip excellent in corrosion resistance, weldability and manufacturability. SOLUTION: The martensitic stainless steel contains, by mass,≤0.02% C, 0.1-0.3% Si, 0.1-0.3% Mn, 11-15% Cr, 5-8% Ni, 1.5-3% Mo,≤0.10% Al,≤0.020% N, and one or two or more kinds of Ti, V, Cu, W, Ca, Zr and Mg as necessary, and the balance substantially Fe with P-value of 0.3 to 1.0, where P-value is the ratio of (Ni vol. % inγphase in a sample) to (vol.% ofγphase).
