Several catalyst precursors or catalyst supports are converted into polymerization catalysts in an array of reactors by pre-treatment process which involves thermal treatment at 250-1200 degrees Celsius. At least one starting material is converted using the catalyst into at least one polymer product. The polymer product(s) is analyzed to determine its composition and/or chosen properties. Several catalyst precursors or catalyst supports are converted in parallel into polymerization catalysts in an array of reactors by pre-treatment process. The pre-treatment involves at least one thermal treatment at 250-1200 degrees Celsius. At least one starting material is converted with the aid of the respective polymerization catalyst under preset conditions into at least one polymer product. The polymer product(s) is analyzed to determine its composition and/or chosen properties. An Independent claim is included for array of parallel reactors.
