<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image extracting apparatus, an image extracting method and an imaging apparatus capable of automatically finishing a picked-up portrait to an eye-friendly photograph by trimming. <P>SOLUTION: The image extracting apparatus consists of an image input section for receiving a color image photographing a human figure as a subject and outputting the image as digital data, a flesh color region extracting section for receiving an image and outputting a flesh color region, an object detecting section for detecting an object from the detected flesh color region, and a trimming section for trimming the detected object. The trimming section trims an image so that a top A, a face B and a chest C are in the dimension ratio of 1:0.4-0.8:0.1-0.26, where the top A is a portion from an uppermost end 600a of a certificate photograph 600 to a parietal region TOH of a person 601, the face B is a portion from the parietal region TOH to a jaw HOC, and the chest C is a portion from the jaw HOC of the person to a lowermost end 600b of the certificate photograph. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
