PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning device which eliminates necessity for both a testing artificial mounting implement and an inserting unit for copying a desired relative position determined by using mounting implement, in a mounting operation system for an artificial joint, particularly for an artificial shoulder joint, having certain two cooperating bearing bodies of a joint head and a joint shell and also a shaft and a coupling for connecting the shaft to one of the bodies. SOLUTION: This mounting operation system includes the positioning device which can dispose the shaft 15 in a desired depth of a bone 19 without the coupling 17, a previously positioning device which can previously fix the desired position of the body 11 to the coupling 17 by the shaft 15 disposed in the desired depth, and a finally fixing device which can finally fix the desired position fixed previously by the coupling 17 removed from the shaft 15.
