PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root vegetable harvester which can increase the recovery of root vegetables in a recovering section disposed on a machine frame, while a space for the work does not laterally or backward protrude from the machine frame. SOLUTION: This root vegetable harvester is characterized by disposing a harvesting section for pulling out the root vegetables and then cutting off the foliage of the root vegetables, an elevating conveyer for upward conveying the root vegetables conveyed from the harvesting section, and a recovering section e for recovering the root vegetables conveyed by the elevating conveyer into a receiving bag 2 loaded on the machine frame, disposing an elevator 23 capable of liftably supporting the receiving bag 2 and maintaining the receiving bag 2 at an elevated position, in the recovering section e, and forming the elevator 23 so that the elevator 23 can be pulled out or returned in the lateral direction at the lowest end position.
