PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable firm mounting on a fishing rod, easy exchange of a tightening belt and production of even a product in a small lot at a low cost. SOLUTION: A cover for protecting a rod tip is composed by forming a lateral opening 24 for receiving the tip of a butt rod tube 16 successively housing small-diameter tubes on the tip side on one side at the base end side. The cover for protecting the rod tip is provided with a cylindrical body 22 having an extendedly provided slit 26 for passing fishing line guides from the lateral opening 24 toward the tip side and a tightening belt 28 fixed to the cylindrical body and tightening the tip of the butt rod tube 16 housing the small-sized rod tubes through the lateral opening 24 to the cylindrical body 22. The tightening belt 28 is fixed to the cylindrical body 22 with a fixing member 35. Furthermore, the fixing member 35 is detachably formed on the cylindrical body 22 and an engaging part for engaging one end side of the tightening belt 28 is provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
