<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic key system which enables a key to be lent to another person without any anxiety. <P>SOLUTION: When a first collating means 42, which is provided in a sub-key 12, determines a coincidence between reference object information and collation object information which is detected by a living-body identifying means 41, restriction instruction information can be set by a restriction instruction means 43. A microcomputer 36 generates a specific code from the set restriction instruction information. A smart electronic control unit (ECU) 20 on the side of a vehicle 3 collates the specific code output from the sub-key 12 with a reference specific code which is stored in a memory 201. At a coincidence between the specific code and the reference specific code, the smart ECU 20 imposes restrictions on operations of auxiliary devices 13, 14, 44 and 45, based on the reference specific code. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
