<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste water treatment method and a waste water treatment apparatus in which the apparatus can be downsized and waste water can efficiently be treated. <P>SOLUTION: In the waste water treatment method, the biological treatment of waste water 2 to be treated is performed by providing a fiber bundle 6 constituted by bundling a plurality of fibers 5 and using filter bodies 4a, 4c capable of filtering or aerating the waste water 2 by passing the waste water 2 or gas among the fibers 5. On the respective filter bodies 4a, 4c, the filtration and the aeration of the waste water 2 to be treated are performed alternately and the filtration and the aeration of the waste water 2 to be treated are performed at the same time by the filter bodies 4a, 4c. In such a case, it is unnecessary to install an aeration device and a filter device separation because the filtration and the aeration are performed alternately on the respective one of the filter bodies 4a, 4c. During the biological treatment of the waste water 2 to be treated, either one of the filter bodies 4a, 4c is always washed and the other one performs the filtration.
