PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight of a plasma display device. SOLUTION: This plasma display device is equipped with: a panel 10 in which a pair of substrates at least the front side of which is transparent is disposed opposite to each other so that a discharge space is formed therebetween and a group of electrodes are disposed on the substrates; a holding member 21 holding the panel 10; and a circuit block disposed on the reverse side of the panel side of the holding member 21 and applying signals to the panel to display. The holding member is composed of a non-metallic material, and a groove 22 is provided on the face of the panel 10 side of the holding member 21 in the vertical direction, and a groove 24 is provided on the face of the circuit block disposed side in the lateral direction.
