The vice (1) comprises a stationary (3) and a movable clamping jaw (4), designed as quick exchange jaws. Two parallel positioned vertical slots (8) are located at the movable jaw (4) in order to fix the jaw (4) to a carriage provided with threaded bores. A bolt (18) provided with a threaded segment in the lower area and a plain segment adjacent to the head (15, 16) is guided through a plain bore (11) in the jaw (4) and fixed with its lower threaded end in the carriage, its head (15, 16) resting on a collar (12) at the upper end of the slot (8).
