PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for outputting a broadcast signal for enabling a viewer to recognize the current state when a display device cannot display a broadcast signal including a copying prevention signal and to provide a method for the output device, a processor and a read medium. SOLUTION: In this broadcast signal output device for decoding video/sound signals and outputting the decoded video/sound signals to the display device and a speaker through respective video output terminal and sound output terminal, an OSD processing part generates a message showing that viewing is not allowable. A control part determines whether a decoded video signal includes the copying prevention signal. When the control part determines that the video signal includes the copying prevention signal, the control part requests/receives an authentication signal from the display device in order to determine the existence/absence of transfer permission to the display device connected through the video output terminal, determines whether the authentication signal matches with the copying prevention signal included in the video signal, and then interrupts the output of the decoded video signal and sound signal to the video output terminal and the sound output terminal if the authentication signal does not match with the copying prevention signal. The control part controls the OSD processing part so as to output the message of unallowed viewing to the display device through the video output terminal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
