PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pushbutton switch structure and a portable electronic device with the same easy to evenly light a head portion of a pushbutton. SOLUTION: The pushbutton switch structure 20 of a portable electronic device 1 includes a pushubutton main body 21 made of a transparent material and supported in a case so as to be free to advance and retreat along an extending direction axis line A of an axis portion 23; a dome switch 40 made of a transparent material facing to a head portion of the main body 21 on an extended line of the axis line A of the axis portion 23 of the main body 21; and a light source 34 placed on a rear face side of the doom switch 40 on the extended line of the axis line A of the axis portion 23 of the main body 21 so as to light the axis part 23 of the main body 21 from a tip side 25 via the dome switch 40 made of the transparent material.
