METHOD OF MEASURING ROCK WETTABILITY BY MEANS OF NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE

The invention relates to a method of measuring rock wettability by means of low-field nuclear magnetic resonance. The inventive method essentially consists in (i) determining the water-wet porous surface and the oil-wet porous surface when the sample is saturated in water and oil using measurements of the relaxation time (T1, T2) of the sample which is placed in a nuclear magnetic resonance device and which has been previously brought to different saturation states in water or in oil, and (ii) calculating the wettability index by combining the values obtained for said surfaces. The invention can be used for the investigation or exploitation of hydrocarbon pools or for civil engineering purposes, etc.
