<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which flexibly meets requirements of high speed processing, high performance, or multi-function of a system. <P>SOLUTION: After a conversion section 402 converts parallel data into serial data, a photoelectric conversion section 404 converts the serial data into a signal light and makes the signal light incident onto an optical fiber 410. A photoelectric conversion section 424 at an opposite side receives the signal light passed through the optical fiber 410 and converts the signal light into serial data. After converting the serial data into parallel data, a conversion section 422 gives the parallel data to a video board 427. Even when a plurality of function module circuits are placed apart from each other, no problem caused by electromagnetic field interference, electromagnetic environment adaptability, or unsharpened waveform or the like takes place, if optical transmission technology is employed. Thus, a degree of installed places of the function module circuits is considerably extended and the image forming apparatus flexibly meets the requirements of high speed processing, high performance, or multi-function of the system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
