PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a powdery hair dyeing agent excellent in solubility and having soft touch feeling. SOLUTION: The powdery hair-dyeing agent is (C) a carboxymethylcellulose sodium salt mixture obtained by formulating (A) 20-80pts.wt. carboxymethylcellulose sodium salt having 0.3-0.6 etherification degree and 20-5,000mPas viscosity of 1wt.% water solution with (B) 20-80pts.wt. carboxymethylcellulose sodium salt having >0.6 and≤1.0 etherification degree and 20-5,000mPas viscosity of 1wt.% water solution so that the total amount becomes 100pts.wt. The formulated carboxymethylcellulose sodium salt mixture (C) comprises 1-50wt.% carboxymethylcellulose sodium salt for powdery hair-dyeing agent which is a powdery product having the following characteristic values (α), (β) and (γ). (α): etherification degree is 0.45-0.90 and viscosity of 1wt.% water solution is 100-2,000mPas; (β): the content of the powdery product having >200μm particle size is≤30wt.% and the content of the powdery product having >74μm and≤200μm particle size is 10-95wt.% and (γ): angle of repose is≤65 degree.
