Method for storage and automatic dispensing of massive objects (252, 254, 257) or bulk goods, whereby goods are held during a storing process on storage supports (212) in a storage area (101, 102). Data relating to stored goods and their storage positions are recorded during the storing process. The data is then used when the goods are to be retrieved prior to dispensing through a transfer position (505, 506). The invention also relates to a corresponding device for carrying out the method.
