BROADBAND OPTICAL FIBER AMPLIFIER

PURPOSE: A broadband optical fiber amplifier is provided to reduce the number of components such as an optical isolator and an optical signal coupler by using a 4-port optical circulator to receive a broadband optical signal from an optical communication network and perform a function of the optical isolator. CONSTITUTION: A broadband optical fiber amplifier includes the first amplifier(230), a C/L splitter(213), the second amplifier(240), an optical signal coupler(215), and an optical circulator(210). The first amplifier(230) is used for amplifying and outputting a C-band and an L-band broadband optical signal and outputting the amplified spontaneous emission light. The C/L splitter(213) is used for splitting the amplified broadband optical signal into the C-band optical signal and the L-band optical signal. The second amplifier(240) is used for amplifying and outputting the L-band broadband optical signal. The optical signal coupler(215) is used for coupling the C-band broadband optical signal and the amplified L-band broadband optical signal and outputting the coupled signal. The optical circulator(210) includes the first port for receiving the broadband optical signal, the second port for outputting the broadband optical signal and receiving the amplified spontaneous emission light, the third port for transferring the amplified spontaneous emission light to the second amplifier and receiving the amplified L-band broadband optical signal, and the fourth port for outputting the L-band broadband optical signal to the optical signal coupler.
