PURPOSE: A device for restoring an active signal/synchronous signal is provided to enable a display device to receive a digital video signal transmitted as an optical signal through an optical fiber by a source device, thereby restoring a horizontal synchronous signal and a vertical synchronous signal, and a horizontal active signal and a vertical active signal. CONSTITUTION: An optical signal receiver(300) receives an optical signal from a source device. A serial/parallel converter(310) converts serial data of the optical signal into parallel data. A decoder(320) decodes the parallel data. A video signal processor(330) processes a video signal packet of decoded signals, separates a video signal, a header, and a tail, processes a video signal characteristic packet, and recognizes resolution information of the video signal. A clock signal generator(340) generates a clock signal according to the resolution information. A horizontal active signal/synchronous signal restorer(350) inputs the header, the tail, and the resolution information, and restores a horizontal synchronous signal and a horizontal active signal. A vertical active signal/synchronous signal restorer(360) inputs the header and the resolution information, inputs the horizontal synchronous signal, and restores a vertical synchronous signal and a vertical active signal. A video signal output unit(370) inputs the video signal, and outputs the video signal according to the restored horizontal active signal.
