FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves separating fibrous material; creating in fibrous material transportation zone inside discretization drum inner air flow and directing it along arced path to filament removal zone via arced channel curved toward center of discretization drum and narrowing toward transportation channel; dividing air flow in filament removal zone into two air flows, one flow being oriented in radial direction and other flow toward contaminant separating zone. Apparatus has feeding cylinder with feeding table, discretization drum made in the form of shell covered with fittings, immovable cylinder axially aligned with discretization drum and equipped with arced channel arranged between transportation and contaminant separating channels, and air-actuated suction device. Arced channel is curved toward discretization drum center and narrowed toward transportation channel and is divided at its outlet end into two portions, one of said portions being connected to air-actuated suction device and other being connected to transportation channel and extending radially of discretization drum. Channel is inscribed into sector having apex angle of 60-120 deg. One of sector radii is arranged in plane connecting discretization drum center with apex of filament separating knife. EFFECT: increased efficiency owing to reduced filament losses and reduced residual layer on discretization drum, and improved cleaning of fibrous material in transportation zone. 3 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl |
