PURPOSE: A brake pedal system of a vehicle is provided to secure convenience by braking/releasing on an operating unit with hands of the driver, to shorten braking distance by removing lead time in braking the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A brake pedal system of a vehicle is composed of a bracket mounted to a dash panel(3); an arm(4); a supporting shaft(6) supporting the arm to rotate on the bracket; a return coil spring installed to the arm and the bracket; a projection(110) installed to the arm; a plate(120) having a slot through which a projection is slid; a driving unit(130) for transferring the plate in the front and rear of the vehicle; an operating unit(140) for operating the driving unit; a control unit(150) for controlling the driving unit; and a position sensor(160) for sensing and applying operations of the operating unit to the control unit.
