PURPOSE: A cooling water blocking device of driving spindle coupling in rolling mill is provided to prevent leakage of grease that is a lubricant, extend life cycle of coupling and roll neck and prevent safety accident accordingly by effectively blocking cooling water penetrated into an assembly part of coupling and roll neck in hot rolling facility. CONSTITUTION: The cooling water blocking device comprises a cooling water blocking member comprising a fixed frame(24) which is formed of an iron sheet material and inserted into roll neck(10), and at one side of which a disk shaped flange(24a) is formed so that a double cylinder shaped connection member(24b) one side of which is opened is projectingly formed on one side of the flange, an operating flange(26) which is formed of a rubber material and correspondingly connected to the fixed frame in such a shape that the operating flange encircles the fixed frame, on one surface of which a depressed connection groove(26a) is formed, and which is assembled with the fixed frame to form a chamber (C); and a blocking plate(30) comprising a ring shaped protrusion(32) projected in a shape correspondingly to the connection groove so that the protrusion is inserted into the connection groove formed on the operating flange of the cooling water blocking member, wherein the blocking plate is fixed to the front side of a coupling(9) into which the roll neck is inserted into the coupling by inner and outer fixed plates.
