FIELD: erasing records from magnetic data media, primarily from hard disks. ^ SUBSTANCE: device has two channels, each incorporating dc voltage supply, solenoid, storage capacitor bank, switch for connecting storage capacitor bank to solenoid capacitor, and damping diode connected in parallel with the latter. Newly introduced in each channel are controlled charge interrupter, voltage comparator, availability comparator, voltage divider, and switch triggering unit. Controlled charge interrupter is inserted in series with charging circuit of storage capacitor bank from dc voltage supply. Control input of charge interrupter is connected to output of voltage divider The latter is connected in parallel with storage capacitor bank. First input of availability comparator is also connected to voltage divider output. Second inputs of charge and availability comparators are connected to reference voltage sources. Inserted between control unit and switch is switch triggering unit. Control unit shared by both channels of device provides for erasing known and unknown records from magnetic medium. ^ EFFECT: enhanced erasing reliability without increasing time. ^ 5 cl, 2 dwg |
