FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining patient weight and height. Larynx lumen area is calculated. Coefficient K=S/BMI, where S is the larynx lumen area ((mm2);) BMI is the weight/height2 kg/m2. When K>=2, larynx stenosis is estimated as compensated one. When 1<K<2, it is estimated as subcompensated one. When K<1, it is estimated as decompensated one. To determine larynx lumen area, transnasal fibrolaryngoscopy is to be done as video recording of patient larynx lumen area at inhalation stage.
