PURPOSE: To provide a gateway card, a gateway device, a gateway control method and a gateway control program capable of reducing power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A personal computer 520 and the gateway card 510 connected to the personal computer 520 to adjust a communication protocol between different networks(WAN 200, LAN 400) are provided. At the gateway card 510, when an access request from a client 3001 corresponds to access to external devices(servers 1001-100n), the power mode of the personal computer 520 is maintained at a power-saving mode and the client 3001 is made to access the external device. At the personal computer 520, when a predetermined cause of transfer occurs, its power mode is shifted from a normal power mode to a power-saving mode.
