PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a reliable system for monitoring a state of motion by determining accurately and automatically whether the state is static or dynamic, and stable or dangerous, and further the details of the static or dynamic state. SOLUTION: An acceleration is measured by an accelerometer and whether the state is static or dynamic is determined on the basis of the magnitude of a change of the acceleration in each direction in a prescribed time. In the dynamic state, whether the state is stable or dangerous is further determined on the basis of the magnitude of the change of the acceleration. A posture in the static state is determined on the basis of the value of the acceleration in each direction, while conditions of a motion in the dynamic state are determined from the magnitude of the change of the acceleration by a waveform analysis. According to this solution, an aged person or the like can make a move freely from anxiety and arbitrarily. In an emergency, a quick relief operation is conducted and the burden of a carer is considerably lightened. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
