METHOD OF SCREENING PHYSIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCE

A method of screening a physiologically active substance which comprises (1) the step of contacting a transformed yeast, which can express a foreign protein and shows a change in the growth state under the expression of this protein compared to the case without the expression thereof, with a test sample, (2) the step of culturing the yeast under the conditions allowing the expression of the protein, and (3) the step of measuring the growth state of the yeast, and in which the test sample is judged as containing a physiologically active substance in the case where the growth of the yeast is lessened or elevated in the presence of the test sample compared to a control case having no test sample; a yeast to be used in the above method; a physiologically active substance which can be obtained by the screening method; and a kit for screening a physiologically active substance which contains the above yeast.
