PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire enhancing tire circumferential direction rigidity, improving operation stability or the like, and suppressing local failure (buckling) of a belt by clarifying relationship of untwisting of a cord of a sub-belt layer due to compression input and a twisting angle with an adjacent belt. SOLUTION: The belt 2 comprises at least two main belt crossing layers 2A, and the sub belt layer 2B with cords arranged in the same direction as cords of an adjacent main belt crossing layer 2A. When the cords of the main belt crossing layer 2A have an angleθ<SB>H</SB>in relation to a tire axis direction and the cords of the sub belt layer 2B have an angleθ<SB>L</SB>in relation to the tire axis direction, they have a relationship ofθ<SB>H</SB>>θ<SB>L</SB>. Theθ<SB>H</SB>,θ<SB>L</SB>, and the twisting angleθ<SB>C</SB>with respect to a vertical direction of the cords of the sub belt layer 2B satisfy a relationship represented by 0<θ<SB>C</SB>+θ<SB>L</SB>, 0<θ<SB>H</SB>, and 0<θ<SB>L</SB>×θ<SB>H</SB>, or 0>θ<SB>C</SB>+θ<SB>L</SB>, 0>θ<SB>H</SB>, and 0<θ<SB>L</SB>×θ<SB>H</SB>.
