摘要 PURPOSE: A system for managing a fault generation rate of an optical transmission network and a method therefor are provided to filter a fault path of the optical transmission network, calculate the number of lines influenced by a specific transmission speed level, and measure a fault generation ratio with respect to the number of facilities. CONSTITUTION: A database(2-5) stores facilities information and line accommodation items about optical transmission devices(2-1) registered in alarm collecting devices(2-2). A facilities number calculator(2-6) periodically collects the number of facilities of the optical transmission devices(2-1), and stores facilities information in the database(2-5). A fault information processor(2-4) analyzes the characteristic of alarms collected by the alarm collecting devices(2-2), extracts lines associated with the alarms, measures information about the lines, and stores measured information in the database(2-5). The fault information processor(2-4) calculates a fault generation ratio with respect to the number of the facilities by facilities information stored in the database(2-5) and the number of the lines in which the alarms are generated, and stores the calculated fault generation ratio in the database(2-5).
